CONFERENCE IDENTITY: Microgrid and DER Controller Symposium

Completed October 2016

CHALLENGE

Create a logo and support materails for the Microgrid and Distributed Energy Resources Controller Symposium to be held in February 2017 on MIT’s campus and in partnership with MIT Lincoln Laboratory.

BACKGROUND

A microgrid is an energy system that can work in parallel with or independent from the main power grid. I was directed to abstract the notion of a microgrid and represent clean energy in a sleek, elegant and scientific way.

SOLUTION

A series of perpendicular lines form an open grid system, guiding the viewer’s eye while organizing content. The sage green color palette makes a nod to “clean” energy without recycling an expected kelly green.
