Deliverables

Cyan Collaborative is a group of professionals who know the ins and outs of the seafood company. They work with large seafood companies, remote farms, NGOs, and everyone in between providing partnership management, listening, relationship building, and brand growth. Their mission is to create a thriving and sustainable blue economy.

Cyan requested a logo and social media templates to help launch their brand. The creation of which should be done with consideration to how the brand make take shape on a website, to be built in the future.

Creative Direction

The fishing industry is defined by hard-work, often in unfavorable conditions. Fancy things like creative strategy and branding aren’t exactly type of mind.

The visual identity needed to establish Cyan Collaborative as a strategic, creative entity that could be trusted. In other words, make it fresh and fun…but not too much.

To find the right balance, we identified the following themes that led to 3 potential directions:

Final Direction

A sustainable seafood economy is a problem solved both on land and in the water. Topographic lines are used to describe both. These lines and supporting graphic elements create a playful but educational aesthetic, brought together with a cyan- and navy-based color palette complete with seafoam and coral accents.

A hand drawn illustration style adds a sense of creativity and artistry to the sustainable efforts. As opposed to the trendy flat graphics that feel computer-generated, this style evokes a human element.
